If you are inspired by the life of Hand of the Cause Mr Balyuzi and the work of the Afnan Library and would like to help his legacy grow so that the ‘rising generations’ may themselves follow in his ‘glorious footsteps’ and emulate his ‘outstanding scholarly pursuits’, you can do so by a number of ways.

If you wish to make a financial contribution, you can do so by various means:

1. We collect donations online using This is a safe and very efficient way to donate money. use SafePay to keep the transaction secure. They make no charges apart from those that the card company that you use makes. This means that if you live in the UK and use a VISA or Mastercard Debit or Credit card, the total cost to us is 1.3% of your donation. There are also currency conversion charges if you are outside the UK.

When it comes to putting your card number and security code, on some browsers such as Opera, a message may come up saying “Payment not secure”  – this is incorrect and your payment is securely connected to Paysafe.  On most browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome, this message does not appear.

If you pay income tax to the British government, please consider increasing your gift by 25% at no extra cost to yourself simply by ticking the Giftaid declaration below. 2. If you are not happy with an online donation for any reason, you can also make a contribution by sending a cheque through the post. In order to do this, please contact the Treasurer of the Afnan Library using the form on the Contact Page, and selecting “Financial Contribution”.

3. You can also support the Afnan Library while you are shopping for goods and services online at no extra cost to yourself by using Easyfundraising. Click on the link below. This takes you to the Afnan Library page on the Easyfundraising website. Here, click on “Join Us” to set up an account.

Then, every time you shop online, go to Easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping. There are over 3,000 sites where you can buy goods and services and a small proportion of your spending comes back to the Afnan Library at no extra cost to you. This includes shopping sites such as Argos, John Lewis and Amazon, buying flights from sites such as Expedia and Opodo or train journeys from, or mobile phone services from sites such as Carphone Warehouse, and there are also price comparison websites for car and home insurance, broadband and digital TV, mobile phones and energy utilities.
