Donate to the Afnan Library

If you are inspired by the life of Hand of the Cause Mr Balyuzi and the work of the Afnan Library and would like to help his legacy grow so that the ‘rising generations’ may themselves follow in his ‘glorious footsteps’ and emulate his ‘outstanding scholarly pursuits’, you can do so by a number of ways.

If you wish to support the library by donating books and manuscripts or volunteering your time, please follow this link.

If you wish to make a financial contribution, you can do so by various means:

1. Online contributions

We collect donations online.

If you are living in the UK then please make your donations through the Paypal Giving Fund as there is no fee for doing this. If you are a UK taxpayer please click on the link at the bottom of the Paypal Giving Fund page to give an extra 25% at no cost to yourself through the government's GiftAid scheme. (You need to have a Paypal account to use this method of donation or you can set one up as part of the process of making the donation. If you do not want to have a Paypal Account, you can use the next method below without a Paypal account):

For all other donors, you can use any Debit Card or Credit Card on the Paypal website (you do not need to have a Paypal account). Please click on the button below:

2. Postal contributions

If you are not happy with an online donation for any reason, you can also make a contribution by sending a cheque through the post. In order to do this, please contact the Treasurer of the Afnan Library using the form on the Contact Page, and selecting “Financial Contribution”.

3. Easyfundraising (UK only)

You can also support the Afnan Library while you are shopping for goods and services online at no extra cost to yourself by using Easyfundraising.

There are over 3,000 sites where you can buy goods and services and a small proportion of your spending comes back to the Afnan Library at no extra cost to you. This includes shopping sites such as eBay, Argos, John Lewis and Tesco groceries, buying flights from sites such as Expedia and Opodo or train journeys from thetrainline.com, or mobile phone services from sites such as Carphone Warehouse, and there are also price comparison websites for car and home insurance, broadband and digital TV, mobile phones and energy utilities. Once you have registered an account with Easyfindraising, you can either go to Easyfundraising first every time you shop online to find the site you want and start shopping via the Easyfundraising site or once you have registered with Easyfundraising, you will be given the option of adding an extension to your web-browser which will alert you to every retailer site where a donation is available. After you’ve purchased and checked out, that retailer will make a donation to the Afnan Library (via Easyfundraising) for no extra cost to you whatsoever. There are no catches or hidden charges and the Afnan Library Trust will be really grateful for your donations. Thank you for your support.

Click on the link below. This takes you to the Afnan Library page on the Easyfundraising website. If you do not already have an Easyfundrasing account, you will need to create one first by clicking on “Sign Up” in the top right of the screen.
